ZV-LAF50W62-M34 | 50mm F1.0 Long-Range Athermalized LWIR Lens | 640x512 12um VOx | Export-Ready
Product Overview
The ZV-LAF50W62-M34 is the longest focal length in ZanVision's germanium-free athermalized lens family, delivering a 50mm F1.0 optical path optimized for 640x512 12um uncooled detectors. With a narrow 9.1-degree horizontal field of view, this lens achieves DRI ranges of approximately 9.0km detection / 2.2km recognition / 1.1km identification (human target, per EN IEC 62676-4:2025 standard). It is purpose-built for extreme long-range surveillance applications where target identification at multi-kilometer distances is operationally critical. The germanium-free design ensures unrestricted international deployment.
Key Advantages
Maximum Identification Range: 1.1km human identification capability (EN IEC 62676-4:2025). The only germanium-free athermalized lens in its class achieving kilometer-scale identification with uncooled 12um detectors.
Narrow FOV Precision: 9.1-degree HFOV provides telescope-like magnification for long-range target acquisition. Ideal as the narrow-FOV channel in multi-FOV or continuous zoom systems.
Germanium-Free Export: No ITAR, no EAR, no germanium export restrictions. Critically important for defense and security programs in regions affected by germanium supply controls.
Athermalized -40C to +80C: Maintains focus without active compensation across the full MIL-STD-810G temperature range. Zero power consumption, zero maintenance.
F1.0 Light Gathering: The fast aperture is essential at 50mm focal length to overcome atmospheric transmission losses. Maintains usable SNR even in high-humidity coastal and tropical environments.
Ideal Applications
Long-Range Border & Coastal Surveillance: Fixed-site monitoring of borders, coastlines, and exclusive economic zones (EEZ) where vessel or personnel identification at 2km+ is an operational requirement.
Critical Infrastructure Protection: Nuclear facilities, strategic ports, and national monument protection where the security perimeter extends beyond 1km and threat identification (not just detection) is mandatory.
Long-Range Fire & Thermal Anomaly Detection: Industrial flare stack monitoring, pipeline surveillance, and wildfire early warning systems where the sensor must cover large areas from a single elevated position.
Multi-FOV EO/IR Systems: Serves as the narrow-FOV channel in dual-FOV or step-zoom thermal payloads, paired with a wider lens for search and this 50mm for identification in military and paramilitary applications.
